I love looking at flowers, trees and watching leaves changing colours. Every season, I can see things differently, every day, the sky, the wind, the colours.
In the first three paintings I am drawn to birds and leaves. Birds are recognised as symbols of freedom due to their ability to soar through the sky. In my imaginary landscape I chose to depict a bird in a cage, as well as her ability to fly. For me, leaves and branches, evoke thoughts of the cycles of life and the beauty of nature.
This series of paintings was completed in May 2025. Autumn leaves are falling, and I am once again reminded of the seasonal changes and fragility of our world.
This triptych can be viewed individually or as a complete set, forming an interconnected scene.
I used acrylic and oil paints, where the texture is built through multiple layers.
I call this series “meditation on flight”.
